Why doesn't the Government sell US Bonds at stores like Lotto tickets and Stamps?

I do own Bonds I just think it would be easier and less hle if you could just purchase them at convenience store.I want Americans to own American debt and would rather we buy it and our future than Chinese Communists Dictators.
